Readying to Move On....and a Retrospective....

With our family members safely back in the Coastal Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada, Jeanette and I went our separate ways - only for a brief four hours - after returning from the Phoenix/Mesa Gateway airport, last Tuesday.  I was off golfing with my friend Rick while Jeanette caught up with some shopping.

Following our golf round (no photos available) the three of us headed out for dinner.  We chose the well recommended Los Gringos Mexican restaurant in Apache Junction.
Los Gringos Restaurant, Apache Junction, AZ.
The restaurant was busy, upon arrival, but we were soon escorted to a table.  We all enjoyed a Mexican Pale Ale while waiting for our food. Rick was toasting to a good week of golf while here in the desert.  He returned home yesterday (Wednesday) morning.

Yum, yum, yum.
Rick and I chose the Enchiladas special while Jeanette chose some fan dangled mix of awesome Mexican fare.  It was a very fine meal.

Saying our good byes, Rick headed back to the Gold Canyon Resort while Jeanette and I vegged out in our fiver.

The day before Rick left, Easton and his folks headed back to the west coast.  The following photos were not posted earlier so we'll feature them on this blog.
Easton's playroom in our 5th wheel.
The little plastic step ladder we use indoors was a perfect tool to assist Easton to stand up at will.  He played with this a lot.

His Nana kept him busy with toys....and more toys.  We now have a bunch of toys in our RV.
Trevor and Ginette surprised us with a lovely 'thank you' card and a bottle of my favourite Red and Jeanette's favourite White wines.  Easton thanked us too - in oh so many ways - for the holiday in the desert.  Too cute!

Trevor - a licensed motorcyclist - took the motorcycle for a ride.
Ginette and Trevor got busy with packing for the flight back home.  We held on to the play pen, car seat, stroller and a suitcase full of hot weather clothes that Ginette and Trevor had packed and we hauled down here in our 5th wheel. They were able to travel light and save the extra luggage fees on their flights.
'Hey, what's with this suitcase?  I don't want to go back!  I like it here!"
One last hug for Nana and Grand Papa before Easton takes flight back home.
Yesterday (Wednesday) Jeanette drove off to a hair appointment and I exercised the vacuum cleaner.  Once done with that chore, I sorted out our front and side garages and stored a few things too.  With our departure for Yuma, this Friday, I took advantage of a nice afternoon to motorcycle to Queen Creek and points south towards the mountains.  While I was away, Jeanette fired up the on board washer and dryer and completed the laundry.

Golf in the desert.....and I mean a sand course!
I chose to fuel up the truck and, just across the fuel station, Jeanette noticed this 'sand only' golf course.  It is called 'Snakehole Golf'.  I have no idea what the - if any - green fees are because there is no green (grass that is).  Hmmm, I have never seen anything like this before.
This course obviously draws golfers.
Today is Valentine's Day....and the final day before our departure from Canyon Vista RV Resort.  We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here....and we'll certainly return again.  Enjoying an early evening walk around the RV park last evening, we stopped by Rod and Sylvia's site to say our good byes.  Six Saturdays and a Sunday | Work's over, now it's time to play! These good folks had just returned from a trip to the grocery store following another day hiking in the local mountains.

Our RV friends, Fritz and Bonnie (from Iowa), invited us and others for a special Valentine's Hot Dog roast and evening fire at their site - four rigs over from ours.  We are up for that!  We have plans for a motorcycle ride today then continue to store more stuff before the wiener roast.

Yuma.....here we come....this Friday!

Thanks for dropping by.
