No. 9 hole on the Needles Municipal Golf Course |
Golf partner, Hector, getting ready. |
Saturday's weather was perfect for a round of golf. Hector and I headed off to Needles to play their municipal course. Quite a nice layout....and although not too difficult, we managed to make it play difficult on a few holes. Overall?....a great day on the links.
After a hard day on the links, we shared a 'wee dram' in our 5'er. |
Diane and Hector (our recent RV friends from the Nanaimo area of Vancouver Island) |
When Diane and Jeanette returned from shopping, they coordinated some dinner plans that involved putting some steaks on the BarBQ and adding a nice mix of veggies, etc. We enjoyed wonderful company and shared some great laughs while enjoying dinner. It was a bit breezy out so we sat indoors in our 5th wheel.
Really good food shared with really nice friends |
On Sunday morning, Jeanette and I spent some time going through emails and responding to friends. We spent a bit of time in the morning at the river walk in the resort we're at near Needles, CA.
While on the river walk, I took a telephone call from some miscreants I thought I had left behind in White Rock. The regular 'Open Mike" coffee crowd back home chose to direct a call my way to antagonize me. That is not unusual for this group.....but after a few really good laughs, we said our good byes.....and we pressed on with our day.
That's the name of this park, marina and store. |
Store in Pirate Cove |
We are told this RV Park and the Pirate Cove resort is a sea of folks and water aficionados during the summer months. It's wall to wall folks looking for a nice place to stay cool. During the winter months, this place is relatively quiet. That is - selfishly speaking - good for snow birders like us.
We chose to join Hector and Diane for a late afternoon drive into Bullhead City, AZ and took in a very, very good Chinese buffet.
This is where we come to acces the internet, write the blog and respond to emails. |
Jeanette and I really enjoyed our time here. We've noted it as "highly desirable" in our travel log.
It is a beautiful and calm day so Hector and I chose to hit the links again before we depart for our respective destinations tomorrow. We head east toward the Phoenix area and Diane and Hector are heading south towards the Yuma area.
Thanks again for dropping by.
cheers to your 'highly desirable day'!!
ReplyDeleteYou sure seem to have hit it off lucky with your newfound RV'ing friends - that's terrific! We stayed in the Needles area a few years ago and really enjoyed our stay there too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and safe travels with your move!
