Festive Family and Friends' Activities....

What a week of fun we had!

Having our entire family together for several days; including having our three grandchildren around, was a treat. Our Edmonton family flew into town for several days for a family visit and to attend the wedding of our close and long time friends' son's wedding.  A nice time was had!

The primary purpose for Deni, Courtney and Owen's visit - other than visiting with family - was to attend a special wedding.  Our two kids and the two kids of our friends, Gwen and Steve, more of less grew up together. We lived across the street from each other when our kids were little.  They all played together. They have remained good friends. One of Steve and Gwen's boys - Christopher - married his long time girlfriend, this past Saturday, in the Rose Garden at the University of British Columbia.  What a beautiful venu!

Easton got his very first motorcycle ride with his dad.  What a thrill that was for Easton.
Easton had been asking me and his dad for a motorcycle ride and I always insisted that the Easton's very first motorcycle ride should be given by his dad.  That was the case this past Sunday.  Easton still sports a big grin. I can now take Easton for some short rides, on occasion.

Last Friday saw Deni, Courtney, Ginette and the three grand kids visit the Vancouver Aquarium.  Easton and Owen were quite taken with the big fish, Beluga whales and other fish species.  Always a fun attraction are the sea otters who frolic endlessly while amusing the crowds.

Typical of a little boy, Owen quickly took to driving this little play car around.  I think Deni might have liked his turn at the wheel too. Check out the grin on both their faces!

Alyssa, my nephew's daughter, was also visiting from Edmonton.  What a treat to have her here.  She spent most of her time with Ginette, Trevor, Easton and Brie.  She sure took a shine to Brie (and Brie to her too).  I think Brie is already missing Alyssa's loving care and awesome smile.  What a wonderful young woman she is!

We recall, with great pleasure, watching these four kids grow up together in our first White Rock, BC neighbourhood.  Nice friends; nice family.
All dressed up for the wedding. L-R  Deni, Courtney, Jeanette, Ginette, Trevor and me.
September 6th was a beautiful early fall day with warm temperatures and sunny skies.  Exchanging their vows outdoors, in front of a stunning sea and mountain background, was everything that Christopher and Madeleine - and their folks - had wished for.

Sunday birthday celebration at our home.
It was son in law, Trevor's birthday and, with all of our family in the west coast, it was fitting to hold a Sunday party.  Any reason for a get together is valid, in our books. Trevor's father, Warren and his brother, Wes were along for the celebration too.
Picture time.....
Easton was quick with to help his dad out. He blew really hard to extinguish the candles.

We made plans to join up on White Rock Beach, Monday,  for some really great fish and chips at lunch.  We joined Deni, Courtney, Owen, Barb (Courtney's mom), and Doug for a couple hours of lunch and banter.  A nice visit had!
The tide was extremely low but our view was stunning nonetheless.
Courtney's brother, Matt and his girl friend, Alex took time off work to join in.
By 10:30 this morning (Tuesday) our Edmonton family, along with Alyssa, my nephew's daughter, had boarded their return flight to the Alberta capital city.  It had been a very busy six days here and by early afternoon today, our routine had returned.

Thanks for dropping in.
