A Caliente' Blog Feast With Nearby Bloggers

Jeanette and I - along with our RV neighbour friends, Hector and Diane - organized a happy hour get-together with blogger friends we know are wintering close by.  As it turned out, the invited bloggers are Vancouver Islanders, in British Columbia; including Hector and Diane (non-bloggers).  Jeanette and I were the sole mainlanders.

It was a beautiful, late afternoon when everyone gathered behind our sun shade.  It blocked the high heat and made for a comfortable place to chat, laugh, eat and imbibe in favourite drinks.  It wasn't long before we were well engaged in so many subjects.  And, we laughed a lot too!

Everyone came with a plate of food.  Talk about a feast!
Paulette and Rylie
Norma and Croft
Croft and Norma call Campbell River,  BC their home.   Croft's Mexico
Paulette and Rick call Cowichan Bay, BC their home.   Rick & Paulette's RV Travels
Hector and Diane call Nanaimo, BC their home. (no blog)
With all the fun we had, we agreed to get together again.  And we all look forward to that.
It was 3/12 hours later when these bloggers were preparing to head back to their RV sites.
Jeanette and I did get away on Sunday for a ride that took us to the very end of La Quinta.  This beautiful Coachella Valley city is modern and beautiful.  It is also the home of the valley's PGA (Pro Golf Association) Golf Tournament that gather the world's best golfers once, every year.
The Greg Norman course is one of the three PGA courses that challenge the best of the best.
Hector and I, along with good friends from my golf group back home in BC, got to play this course three winters back.  We managed to bid a hugely discounted rate and it was one of the most difficult golf courses I have ever played.  It is stunningly beautiful.

We were surprised to find an RV park at this beautiful lake.  Boating of any kind is not permitted.  It is a nice place for family picnics though.  And those anglers who love to throw fishing lines out, it can be a very nice way to waste a day away.

For local residents and tourists who long for some water, peace and quiet away from the hustle of the Palm Springs area, this is a pretty nice place to escape to.
Pretty place
Date farms in the area.
Our last Sunday goal was to cruise into Palm Desert - along El Paseo Drive - and drop in for a visit with my cousin, Madeleine and husband Walter.  And they were home.  We telephoned them from near the entrance to their place and they were quick to invite us over to their lovely patio for a visit.

Try as I did, I could not capture a photo with those two engaged in laughter.  But I assure you, we did laugh.  We always enjoy visiting these Edmontonians who call Alberta home.  Good fun.  We did promise to get together again.

And that paints the canvas of the past few days.  We are going to change things up today.  Jeanette and I have planned a motorcycle ride away from the hustle and bustle.  We are heading over the Santa Rosa mountains and into the great countryside that could well take us to some favourite destinations; Santa Ysabel and Julian.

Thanks for dropping by.
